Making your home happy is something we think about but never really get into the nitty gritty (well most of us don't.)

There are alot of simple yet effective ways to improve your home's vibe so I'm going to list a few of the one's I use:

  1. Making sure all pathways and area's are clear and not cluttered up. (obvious?)
  2. Burn some incense so long as you don't have allergies etc, try nice ones like Benzoin, Dragons Blood, Lavender. You don't have to light incense in every room just keep the doors open.
  3. I like to light yellow chime candles everyday in my kitchen, typically I anoint the candle with "Banishing negativity" oil.
  4. I know this is hard but try and keep a positive attitude and project peace. Negativity clings and spreads.
  5. Utilize each room for what it is.. E.g. kitchen=cooking, eating. Bedroom=sleeping, intimacy etc.

My version of cleansing, consecrating and empowering my magickal broom.

Here's what you'll need:

lavender and sage smudge stick

lighter

moon water

your broom

Light the smudge stick and allow the smoke to waft around your broom/besom, gently focus and visualize your broom/besom being cleansed of all impurities and negativity. You may wish to add a chant to aid in your visualization.

After a few moments of smudging set aside the smudge stick and sprinkle your moon/holy water unto your broom/besom repeating the above visualization technique.

It's always good to improvise and adjust this to your own specific needs, so feel free.

That's it!

To bring Blessings and Peace to your home.

A Magickal Water to Bring
Peace to a Troubled Home

Author Unknown

When the home is beset by constant levels of conflict among family members it is likely that hostile energy has suffused the home. Fortunately there is a simple and inexpensive remedy for this problem which makes use of the cooling energies of a number of different enchanted waters.
Add the following to a large glass bottle with a close fitting lid.

-Two Parts Rose Water
-One Part Sea Water
-One Part Rain Water
-One Part Spring Water
-Three Parts of Alcohol
-A Tiny Mirror or Piece of Mirrored Glass

The alcohol may be cane, wood spirit or methylated and is essential as it prevents the mixture turning sour. Alternatives to rose water are any one of the essences of lily of the valley, lavender, gardenia or geranium.

The mixture should be gently stirred, keeping in mind the mirror in the bottle. The following chant is then said over the mixture, preferably by the light of a blue candle:

"Powers of the sea, powers of the rain, powers of stream and field be ye to the right of me and to the left of me. Be ye before and aft and all about.
Flood thy peace into this liquid of the art and bring harmony, blessed concord and tranquility to my home. So mote it be."

At this point you may add a single fresh white rose to the bottle. Walk about the home with a small dish of the water, sprinkling a little about in each room. Pour a little into a saucer and place it beneath the beds of particularly restless family members to calm and pacify.

Showing Appreciation

The above title is very accurate in describing what my topic for the day is about.
I came to the conclusion last night, that I personally do not show enough appreciation for the things that seem to come naturally.

Such as, family, friends, having food, shelter, my health, etc..
I wanted to take a minute and write about it because in these turbulent times we all seem to be so negative and depressed or angry (or all.)

Take a moment today and think about anything and everything your grateful for regardless of what it is, all that matters is your gratitude. I hope this brightens your day as much as it does mine.

Be Blessed!

Lavender honey (Borrowed from KitchenWitch)

This recipe for Lavender Honey would be perfect to use as a sweetner for the love potion below.

Lavender Honey 1 cup dried lavender flowers1 quart mild flavored honey Combine the two in an airtight jar and sit on a windowsill in the sunlight for 2 to 3 weeks turning every couple of days. Once brewed warm honey in a double boiler untill honey is runny but not too hot. Using a piece of cheesecloth and funnel pour honey through and squeeze remainder of honey out of lavender through the cloth.

Quick Love Potion

Here's a sweet lil potion to add to your collection. Best of all it's a general love potion and can be used to create harmonious and peaceful relationships with all who drink it.

1 tsp pink rose petals

1/2 tsp powdered cinnamon

1 tsp lavender buds

1/2 tsp chamomile flowers

3 whole cloves

3 apple seeds from a red apple

1/2 tsp grated orange peel

Mix ingredients together, stirring clockwise 9 times, while saying something like: "My love to give and to receive, with pure intentions as it should be, bring peace and kindness for all to see."

Brew for yourself and others as a tea, sweeten using honey.

Making Commanding Oil

I thought I could share with you a little recipe that's actually quite famous yet has such a nasty reputation for being a "dark" type of magickal tool. I beg to differ, I use it to keep my self in control and boost my own confidence. Use with caution and try to leave anyone else out of this "commanding" type of work.

use jojoba oil & sweet almond oil (carrier oils)

1 part liccorice root powder

1 part calamus powder

1 part vetiver powder

Place the oil and herbs in a dark colored potion bottle w/ screw top lid. Label and use with care.

Magickal uses of Spiders Silk

*Please keep in mind that only non-occupied spider webs should be used for magickal purposes, otherwise you are robbing a poor spider of her home as well as a way to catch prey.

Most commonly the spider web/silk is best used with bindings, hexings and protection workings, however, I find that it is an amazing addition to use when working to "attain and obtain" much like the actual use of the web.

Below is a mini spell you may wish to try if your in need to obtaining good health or a job, happiness and any other "obtaining" desire. It's very much an all-purpose gem.

Gather as much cast away web as you find the need for. Using a pin or needle inscribe unto a candle with the corresponding color of your desire what it is you wish to obtain. (I.e. health, work etc.) Hold the web in your right hand very gently visualizing the powerful energy and magick used to create the web. Now take the web and wrap it around the candle as much as possible while saying something like: " The Spiders silk to catch and keep, by magick's bounds bring ______ to me." Now light the candle and repeat the chant as many times as it takes to feel the energy rising. Once complete you should keep the remainders (if any) of the candle and place it somewhere hidden, safe and close.

Selene's Sleepy Tonic Herbal Tea from my own BOS

Here is a tea recipe I created to help me sleep, I feel it works wonderfully. You may want to look into some of the ingredients in this recipe to check for allergies etc.
All herbs should be dried.
1/2 tsp Valerian
1/2 tsp chamomile flowers
1/2 tsp lavender buds
1/2 tsp pink rose petals
This tends to be a very strong mix so you may want to dilute it per your personal tastes. This mix should be made as a 1 cup serving.
Add honey to sweeten and it also promotes sleep .

Circe's Circle Protection Spell Mix from My Own BOS

Below image is a depiction of the powerful witch Circe.

Here is a very good spell and recipe I created that I find very useful for protection, be it for protecting your home, your loved ones, yourself etc. Be warned my recipe calls for the very dangerous herb *Belladonna* you may leave that herb out as it will still be a very powerful mix.

Ingredients:
1 earthen vessel with airtight lid (ceramic, wood, glass etc)

1 pinch salt of Earth (table salt)

1 pinch white Sage dried

1 pinch *Belladonna

1 pinch Skullcap

1 pinch black pepper

1 pinch Eye of Newt (Mustard seed)

"When the night is at it's darkest point

ignite three candles white,

Call to Circe with strength and pride

And ask for her protective light.

Gather the herbs and such, breathe upon them thrice'

place them in the vessel, shake them only twice.

At anytime you feel the need to shield against all harm,

sprinkle on your person and all is right and calm."

Witches Book Blessing

Harken as the Witches word
Calls the Lady and the Lord
Moon above and earth below
Skies coal blue and suns hot glow
In this right and ready hour Fill the pages with thy power
May no unprepared eyes see
The secrets which entrusted be
To I who walk the hidden road
To find the hearthstones calm abode
Guardians of the four directions
Hear me and lend thy protection
May these truths of earth and skies
Shielded be from prying eyes
But to the Witches whose maps these be
May the way be plain to see
And through all the coming ages
May we find home in these pages
So mote it be!

Collecting Bat Wings

Hey there! Just wanted to post on the difficulties of collecting bat wings, sheesh I didn't realize they are so sharp and painful! *Smiles* Of coarse there not really "bat wings" just holly leaves (notice the shape of the leaves and it makes sense.)

So if you decide to collect them yourself make sure to be careful! I'm serious!

Anyhoo I've added some magickal uses for holly "bat wings" Enjoy!

  • Burning Holly leaves in your home as an incense is said to protect the home and bring in good luck and fortune.
  • Hanging Holly leaves inside your home as well as out is said to protect and drive out negative energies/entities.
  • The leaf of the Holly can be dried and used as teas for fevers, bladder problems and bronchitis. The juice of the fresh leaf is helpful in jaundice treatment. Holly can be used homeopathically as a substitute for quinine. Note: Holly berries are poisonous!
  • If you gather nine Holly leaves in complete silence on a Friday after midnight, wrap them up in a white cloth, use nine knots to bind the cloth, and then place them under your pillow, your dreams will come true. When harvesting the leaves from the Holly, remember to ask the tree if it will allow you to take the parts and be sure to leave the tree an offering of thanks when you are done. Holly favors red and yellow stones as gifts.
  • "Bat Wings" are also great added with any other herb/plant etc. for an added "boost" of power.
